Prior + Partners is attending this year’s Space Comm Expo 2026, where global leaders will come together to share insight, innovation and interdisciplinary approaches from across the space industry.

Among the speakers attending is Masterplanning Director at Prior + Partners Hazel McGregor, who will deliver a session titled “Terrestrial Planning: 5 Lessons to Take to Space.” Hazel’s talk will discuss how masterplanning and spatial planning can inform strategic thinking in emerging space policy and lunar planning contexts. Drawing on Prior + Partners’ experience in large-scale masterplanning, evidence-led design and long-term governance frameworks, she will reflect on the transferable lessons for emerging space initiatives — considerations that are as critical to the success of urban and regional projects on Earth as they will be in shaping robust planning frameworks for space.

At Prior + Partners, we shape the long-term spatial direction of places, establishing the right foundations, evidence base, governance structures and ambition to enable sustainable growth. In the UK, this includes supporting the Cambridge Growth Company in the preparation of an evidence base and vision for the future of Greater Cambridge, whilst internationally, we have been working across the 22,300 km2 AlUla region in Saudi Arabia to protect its vast heritage landscape while enabling sustainable tourism and long-term regeneration.

Hazel is a RIBA-registered architect and ICOMOS cultural heritage specialist, with over 15 years’ experience delivering transformative masterplanning projects from around complex global contexts. Her work spans major UK schemes including Smithfield, Billingsgate, Euston and the award-winning York Central, alongside culturally driven regional strategies and UNESCO World Heritage contexts across Jerusalem, Jeddah, Riyadh and AlUla.
