Claire Perrott

Associate Director

Architect + urban designer

Claire has considerable experience in masterplanning at all scales from strategic vision through to detail design. She has worked on a wealth of regeneration projects, urban strategies and public realm proposals.

She is particularly interested in the challenge of masterplanning in complex environments and creating people-friendly places. She has provided urban design and architectural input to a wide range of projects, and always demonstrates her ability to develop visionary yet realistic design-led proposals to create a distinctive sense of place.

Claire is a great communicator and one of her invaluable skills is in producing quick, captivating hand-drawn sketches that clearly and effectively explain concepts and ideas. She is a chartered architect, a member of the RIBA and a member of the Design South East expert design review panel.


recent projects include

Waltham Forest Character and Intensification Study

Prior+Partners were commissioned by the London Borough of Waltham Forest to produce an urban design led character and intensification study.  The overarching objective of the study wass to support the council in understanding the best way to accommodate growth and intensification in the borough.  Claire directed the urban design strategy and had a lead role in direction of the design guidance.


Aylesbury Garden Town

Aylesbury was awarded Garden Town status by the Government in January 2017.  Prior+Partners were appointed as part of a wider team to provide masterplanning support for Aylesbury Garden Town to develop a strategic narrative and a new vision and ambition for the next 30 years.  Claire has specifically led on the potential for transformational change in the town centre as a result of town wide population growth.


Silvertown Quays, Silvertown

A strategic masterplan for the redevelopment of this key site in the Royal Docks.  Claire has been involved in the rationalization of the design and development of a clear set of principles for the phase 1 development.


Design Advice and Design review

Claire was appointed onto the Design South East expert review panel in 2017 and sits on both the Swale and Brentwood specific panels.  She has also recently been involved in providing design review and advice during pre-application meetings for a number of planning authorities concentrating on major applications.


London Borough of Havering

A series of studies and strategies for Havering produced over 4 years.  Claire worked on the Romford Town Centre Development Framework which planned for significant growth in and around the town centre.  She then led the feasibility work on the Waterloo Estate, a 4ha 285 unit estate next to the Town Centre where a wide range of proposals were tested.  Claire went on to act as a design advisor for Havering as the council worked on appointing a developer partner to take on 12 of its estates as part of its renewal and growth programme.


Manydown, Basingstoke, Hampshire

For a significant urban extension of up to 3200 new homes, Claire was involved over a number of years working on the masterplan and outline planning application.She had a particular role working on the strategic community design aspects of the project at a number of intensive workshops and the production of the Design and Access Statement.
