I’ve always been drawn to the life of cities. Growing up in a small coastal town with little in the way of a cityscape, I was captivated by the scale, energy and stories that urban places seemed to hold. That fascination stayed with me through my studies at the Manchester School of Architecture, where I began to see how design could bring people, places and buildings into dialogue with one another.
Sketching has been a constant thread in this journey. From scribbling on canvases as a child to creating urban design scenarios today, drawing allows me to tell stories and imagine how places might be lived in. It gives me a way to approach complex challenges with fresh perspectives, weaving narrative into design to ensure spaces are not only functional but also meaningful.
I love working across scales, zooming out to the bird’s-eye view of a masterplan and then zooming back in to the human detail that makes a space resonate. My approach balances rigorous analysis with visual storytelling, capturing the essence of a project while making its vision accessible to those who will shape and use it.
At Prior + Partners, I am excited to continue this exploration: designing places that connect people more deeply to their surroundings and celebrate the cultural richness of cities. For me, the most rewarding outcome is when a place feels alive with its own story and people see themselves as part of it.
