Prior + Partners’ Place Economics Director, Polly Barker, will join policymakers, occupiers, and developers at the Last Mile Conference 2025 to explore how local, city, and regional strategies are shaping the next generation of industrial space.

The conference, taking place on 14th October at BAFTA London, will bring together industry experts and leaders to explore the opportunities and challenges facing the industrial sector across the UK.

Polly will be part of the expert panel at the 2:30pm session, Planning Strategies and Local Authority Perspectives, discussing how planning systems can better keep pace with the evolving demand for industrial space. The session will explore whether current planning policies align with robustly estimated future demand and occupier needs and consider how planning can adapt to support the sector’s changing requirements.

Bringing Prior + Partners’ Place Economics expertise, Polly will address questions such as: To what extent can New Towns maximise industrial opportunities and capitalise on those arising from the Industrial Strategy? And how can this be effectively balanced with the critical need for new homes?
