BAME Planners Network, in collaboration with the Royal Town Planning Institute, has announced the winners of the 2025 Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) Recognition List, alongside the recipients of the Rhema Dapaah Award at their End of Year Social on 29 January 2026.

The EDI Recognition List celebrates individuals across the planning profession who are making meaningful and lasting contributions to equality, diversity and inclusion. This year’s cohort reflects the breadth of work taking place across the sector – from embedding inclusive approaches in planning policy, to championing representation through professional networks, mentoring and community engagement.

Among those recognised is Mehul Banka, Urban Designer at Prior + Partners, who has been named a Rising Star on the 2025 EDI Recognition List. The award highlights his growing impact and commitment to inclusive, people-centred design, and dedication to achieving better outcomes through the planning process.
