Last week, Prior + Partners attended the Young Planners’ Conference 2025 at London South Bank University, which brought together early-career planners from across the country to explore this year’s theme of Planning for Health.
The conference provided a platform for discussions on how planning can shape healthier, more inclusive communities, with key highlights including sessions on regeneration, the role of health in planning, and innovative approaches to practice. It was also a valuable opportunity to connect with planners early on in their career, working across the public and private sectors, and to learn about the diverse and inspiring work taking place across the profession.
Prior + Partners’ Head of Digital Innovation, Abhimanyu Acharya, and Senior Urban Planner, Dan Allen, led a session exploring how data and evidence can help embed health into a new generation of Spatial Development Strategies. The session drew on Prior + Partners’ model, which creates Health Action Areas based on unique place conditions to inform policy development and decision-making.
With health now firmly embedded as a priority for the planning profession, the conference underlined the role of the next generation of planners in shaping resilient and equitable places for the future.
