Urban Designer

My path into urban design was one of serendipity. Coming from an architectural background in India, I was first drawn to how design can shape people’s lives. Stepping out of my comfort zone, I found myself gravitating toward the computational and analytical side of design, which ultimately led me to pursue a master’s in urban design at UCL.

My firmest belief while designing places is that every place has an embedded logic waiting to be uncovered. As you go one layer deeper into numbers and data, you start unearthing the stories that shape those very datasets. I have learnt to bridge the gap between data and design, and through this exploration, I’ve discovered that the most compelling urban solutions emerge when we let data inform our intuition, rather than replace it.

This approach has guided my work across diverse projects – from typology-based masterplans for Bedouin communities in the Negev desert, to participatory frameworks empowering marginalised children in London suburbs, to designing sustainable memorial parks that honour both community memory and local needs. I bring this same mindset to my current projects, seeking resilient urban solutions that emerge from the intersection of rigorous analysis and genuine engagement.
