Paul Comerford

Director

I have over 25 years of experience in complex regeneration, mixed use and residential land promotion and planning, at a variety of scales from Green Belt release sites to Garden Communities. Being driven by the creation and delivery of places for communities to be proud of. Crafting viable and deliverable planning permissions is at the heart of my work, to promote and unlock complex sites that deliver positive change.

To take an ongoing example at Oxpens, Oxford I have led the planning for 90,000sqm, and over 300 homes, that balances the demands for innovation space and housing together with creating new public spaces for Oxford by the Thames. Oxpens is a precedent for delivering transformational change in the heart of the city in the existing flood plain, which requires reshaping. The project will meet the regional demands for life science and innovation space from start-ups to global enterprises not previously met in the city centre. Alongside a new bridge across the Thames, it will encourage collaboration, and realise long held objectives by activating former rail lands in the city centre.

My long term relationships with clients stem from leading consultant teams, and delivering advice at all stages of the planning process across projects with multiple phases such as Barton Park, Salt Cross Garden Village, The Steadings and Hackney Wick Central. In order to create deliverable projects across multiple phases, my infrastructure delivery planning (IDP) skillset sees me create IDP’s and lead stakeholders in the delivery of social infrastructure for new communities.
