Mohana Manasa Kesavaraju

Urban Designer

I first gravitated toward urban design through my fascination with layered places—environments where history, culture, and everyday life overlap and evolve together. This curiosity deepened during my time in Venice, where working within the fragile fabric of the Arsenale made me realise how design can thoughtfully bridge past and future. Since then, I have been drawn to sites that demand both strategic thinking and cultural sensitivity, in particular, places where heritage, urban form, and environmental performance intersect.

My professional experience spans large-scale urban neighbourhoods in Europe, climate responsive projects in South Asia and adaptive reuse in historic districts. Working across varied contexts has shaped the way I approach design. I see cities as living organisms with memory and rhythm, and believe good urban design works with these forces. Using process as a dynamic tool, I aim to crystallise analysis and strategy into decisive design decisions, where ideas can be tested and refined with precision and intent.

At Prior + Partners, I approach diverse design contexts with curiosity and rigour, seeing each as a distinct challenge that calls for focused, research led and carefully developed solutions. What excites me most about practicing from the dynamic city of London now is the possibility of shaping places globally and locally that are adaptable, characterful, and deeply attuned to their context- places that people can inhabit, appropriate, and continue to shape over time.
