I have always been fascinated by the way we can make the most meaningful change in the way people live through the most efficient interventions. From studying and beginning my career in Australia, to working on projects in the UK and Middle East, I enjoy working on the margins of change, seeking out the tipping point where idea turns to impact.
Working as a place economist allows me to shape moments of impact—both intentional and incidental—through the built environment, helping to create places that generate economic opportunity and meet the needs of their communities.
I enjoy working in multi-disciplinary teams with colleagues who test our creativity find solutions are thoughtfully designed and robustly evidenced. As a member of the Place Economics team, I do this by interrogating data and drawing out meaningful findings about people, places and projects.
Whether it is examining critical housing solutions for communities affected by the energy transition or defining the economic vision for a whole new city, I am always driven to provide evidence-based advice to support informed decision making.
I believe that communicating the outcomes of complex data and analysis to a wide range of audiences is essential for achieving the best results for the people and places we work with. Working with our multi-disciplinary teams makes this challenge achievable.
