Identifying Roman masterplans at school was the beginning of my career in urban planning. It sparked a fascination with how the structure, shape, and function of towns and cities profoundly impact communities and people’s lives.
My background in political science proved critical to my understanding that the built environment is the physical manifestation of political and social systems. Driven by an innate curiosity about places and people, I pursued a master’s in Sustainable Urban Planning and Design in Sweden. It showed me new ways of thinking about planning and how we can use intersectional, futures, and systems-thinking frameworks to create meaningful outputs while balancing creativity with practicality.
My experience before joining Prior + Partners was focused on transport, infrastructure, and climate, which allows me to see the interconnected bigger picture. A pivotal project was contributing to the Low-Emissions Transport Masterplan (LETMP), as part of the Thimphu Structure Plan in Bhutan. This project cemented my passion for balancing the development of policy and partnerships with the delivery of infrastructure to support equity, resilience, and economic prosperity.
I look forward to continuing my journey in strategic planning at Prior + Partners and growing as a planner on projects across all scales. No place is the same, but with a contextual approach, delivering well-being and prosperity for communities to thrive is fundamental to my work.
