I’ve always been drawn to spaces that feel special—those that make you pause and look, speak a little quieter, or linger just a bit longer before leaving. That quiet sense of wonder sparked my initial fascination with buildings and places.
This curiosity led me to study architecture and design, disciplines that taught me to see space differently: to pull it apart, analyse how it works, and understand the relationships between form, function, and feeling. Over time, I found myself wanting to zoom out beyond the scale of individual buildings to consider the broader systems that shape them—cities, regions, even entire continents. That desire to see the bigger picture brought me to urban planning. It allowed me to explore not just how spaces look or function, but how they connect to their wider context, how it’s managed, who it’s controlled by, who can benefit from it, and so much more.
Living and working in London has only strengthened my love affair with cities, while affirming my core beliefs of egalitarian, accessible, and context specific design. I’ve developed an understanding on what characteristics make somewhere a good place to spend time, whether that’s for work, rest, or play. Coming from a small town in Ireland, I think I’ve developed a broad frame of reference.
To Prior + Partners, I bring with me my varied experience ranging from design to research, to policy, to engagement, to construction and management. I find joy and excitement in bringing together these facets in my day-to-day work.
