Southampton Renaissance Prospectus
A prospectus for change
In 2024, Prior + Partners, alongside Southampton City Council and its Renaissance Board, were appointed as masterplanners, planners and economists to bring forward the Southampton Renaissance – a transformative regeneration programme designed to enhance economic resilience, connectivity, and quality-of-life across the city.
Together with our wider subconsultant team, our work has been guided by three key deliverables that play a pivotal role in supporting the broader Renaissance Programme. Its cornerstone, the Southampton Renaissance Prospectus, outlines a clear strategy and long-term vision for the city, with a focus on areas for change that will be crucial for ensuring Southampton’s successful future.
Insights from the engagement process shaped have shaped the Prospectus, whilst success metrics have been identified to instil confidence in private investors and public sector funders by positioning Southampton as a vibrant, investment-ready city aligned with the emerging Southampton Local Plan.
The Prospectus reflects the “City Brand” which we developed – although it is at an early stage, this strategic brand positioning is already having an impact in repositioning Southampton as a place to invest, with Prior + Partners supporting the City Council at MIPIM 2025.
