Bristol Temple Quarter LLP and Bristol City Council have published the final draft masterplan framework for St Philip's Marsh, marking an important milestone in the delivery of Bristol Temple Quarter, one of the UK's most significant regeneration programmes.
St Philip’s Marsh forms a substantial part of the wider Bristol Temple Quarter area and represents a major opportunity to deliver new homes, employment space, community infrastructure and green spaces in the heart of Bristol. The framework will help guide the long-term transformation of the area and support the wider vision for Bristol Temple Quarter.
Since 2023, Prior + Partners has been working with Bristol Temple Quarter LLP and its partners on the future of Bristol Temple Quarter and, as part of this wider commission, has led the development of the St Philip’s Marsh Masterplan Framework.
The final draft framework sets out a vision for a sustainable mixed-use neighbourhood, creating stronger connections to Bristol Temple Meads Station and surrounding communities while supporting economic growth, environmental resilience and high-quality placemaking. The document has been shaped through extensive engagement with residents, businesses and stakeholders, building on two previous rounds of public consultation.
Public consultation on the final draft framework is now open until 28 July 2026. Following consultation, the framework will be finalised and submitted to the Local Planning Authority ahead of a targeted committee endorsement later this year. If endorsed, it will sit alongside the Local Plan to help guide future development across the area.
