Prior + Partners was Highly Commended in the Climate-Resilient & Regenerative Landscapes category at the Landscape Middle East Awards 2025 for the Musaffah Revitalisation and Development Plan (MRDP).
The MRDP is a bold plan to transform Musaffah, Abu Dhabi’s industrial district, covering 4,000 hectares with 21 kilometres of waterfront and supporting over 150,000 residents and workers. The project takes a climate-conscious, holistic approach, combining infrastructure, transport, and green spaces to manage floods, boost biodiversity, and create cooler, healthier microclimates.
A custom tool, the M-Block system, divides the district into smaller, adaptable communities, allowing development in stages while keeping the area’s character intact. The waterfront has been reimagined as a public space, with green terraces, flood protection, and restored marine habitats, turning a once industrial, inaccessible zone into a vibrant civic area.
The MRDP sets a new standard for climate-smart, regenerative design in Abu Dhabi and the wider region, and the award highlights Prior + Partners’ collaborative approach across landscape, masterplanning, planning, economics, and analytics.
