Manchester Eastlands Regeneration Framework
Client: Eastlands Strategic Development Company (Manchester City Council/Abu Dhabi United Group (ADUG))
Building on the impressive and successful investment in sports facilities and neighbourhood regeneration undertaken in east Manchester since the 2002 Commonwealth Games, the framework sets out a vision for the future of the Eastlands area.
Prior + Partners has been supporting Manchester City Council and Manchester City Football Club to deliver a Regeneration Framework for the transformation of the Eastlands area of approximately 150 hectares around the Etihad Stadium and campus (formerly the City of Manchester Stadium).
The 2017 Eastlands Regeneration Framework has been developed to guide and develop recommendations for future regeneration activities that will enable social, community, commercial and development initiatives in and around the Etihad Stadium, with the emphasis on guiding development activity westwards along the Ashton Canal corridor to connect the Etihad Campus with the estbalished eastward expansion of the city centre.
Prior+Partners has been working on regeneration plans for Grey Mare Lane and Beswick, the regeneration of the Eden Road Industrial Estate and Holt Town. The area will include a new campus for Manchester Metropolitan University’s sport faculty.
