Silvertown Masterplan, London

Chris played a key role in the design of the masterplan of this major urban renewal project in London’s East End, and in the preparation for the submission of a Reserved Matters Application for the first phase, coordinating the masterplanning team, including MLA, PTE, AHMM, dRMM, Aecom and Arup alongside a number of technical consultants. Chris was involved in this project from Lendlease’s initial capacity testing informing the Commercial Appraisal, throughout the design process and planning submission.

Birmingham Smithfield Masterplan, Birmingham

Chris was involved in Lendlease’s successful bid to become the development partner of Birmingham City Council to transform the Birmingham Smithfield site, designing and capacity testing the masterplan’s residential neighbourhood including more than 2,000 homes, retail and a primary school. Lendlease appointed P+P as the Masterplan Consultant, supported by a multi-disciplinary team, to produce a masterplan to regenerate the area formerly occupied by the city’s wholesale markets with a mixed-use development including retail, homes, offices and new public spaces.

Euston HS2 Station, London

Chris played a key role unlocking the potential of the site with quantum and typology testing, developing options and mapping the constraints of the complex site. Prior + Partners led the masterplan design team that supported the successful bid by Lendlease, working alongside Grimshaw, Arup, BIG, AHMM, Haworth Tompkins and Asif Khan.

Manchester Eastlands Regeneration Framework, Manchester

Chris has produced designs for multiple sites in this regeneration corridor, including a new university campus for Manchester Metropolitan University, a commercial district next to Etihad Stadium, and new homes around a reinvigorated high street. Accommodating Manchester’s growth eastwards, and as part of a wider regeneration of this area around the Etihad Stadium, this is a 2km long regeneration corridor for new homes, jobs and amenities.

Thamesmead The Moorings, London

Chris was involved in the production of a framework against which the strategic development brief could be prepared and agreed. The project showed a preliminary approach to development of the The Moorings in Thamesmead, based on an incremental approach to housing renewal and replacement and public realm improvements.

Sydney Light Rail, Sydney, Australia

For this transformative project for Australia’s largest city, Chris was design lead for a section of the route, working in a multi-disciplinary design team across multiple scales, from exploring regeneration options along the route, to station and wayfinding design.
